Marc Keepman, CLFPChairman and CEO
President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of KLC Financial, Inc. Over the course of four decades in the leasing and finance industry, Marc Keepman has founded two highly successful equipment leasing companies: Sunrise Leasing Corporation, which was taken public and eventually sold to a private party, and KLC Financial, Inc.
During his career, Marc has worked with hundreds of banks and financial institutions, structuring transactions and funding over $1.2B. Mr. Keepman’s career also includes executive experience outside of the financial industry, including five years as Chairman and CEO of Bridgecom, a national leader in providing unified messaging business solutions to the internet and telecommunications markets.
Marc is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a Bachelor’s of Economics and a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from Regis University in Denver. He serves on the OneWorld Leasing board of directors as Chairman and is an active member of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA), the National Association of Equipment Leasing Brokers (NAELB), and the National Equipment Financing Association (NEFA). Marc remains active in family pursuits, outdoor activities, skiing and reading.
Spencer Thomas, CLFPPresident
Spencer Thomas holds the position of Executive Vice President at KLC Financial, Inc. Spencer has held this position and has been active at KLC Financial since 2001.
Spencer graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in accounting. Spencer is involved in many facets of the business with an emphasis on business development, sales management, and account management. Spencer strives to develop long lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with his clients and associates. Spencer’s philosophy is that excellent service leads to happy customers who in turn refer their friends and colleagues.
Prior to KLC Financial, Spencer held the position of Executive Vice President at LeasePoint.com. He has also held positions at IMI, Call 4 Wireless, McLeod USA, Norton & Frontier Communications. Away from the office he enjoys time with his family, boating, skiing, hunting, exercising, and helping on the family farm.
Spencer is involved in many facets of the business with an emphasis on business development, sales management, and account management. Spencer strives to develop long lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with his clients and associates.

Specialist in manufacturing, aviation, lease structuring, Capital asset debt refinancing, project financing. Unique/ special experience in structured leases, aircraft, project finance, manufacturing.
Grew up on a farm in southern Minnesota, currently an active Partner in the family farming operation.
Patrick Swanson, CLFPBusiness Development
Patrick Swanson is an associate with KLC Financial, Inc. based in Minnetonka, MN. He is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and has been with KLC Financial, Inc. since 2002. Patrick works with clients ranging from small developing startups to mature companies to help structure financing for capital equipment.
His finance experience encompasses a broad range of both industry and equipment types. He brings an entrepreneurial spirit to his business dealings and is passionate about helping other entrepreneurs navigate and capitalize on profitable opportunities.
His personal interests include spending time with family and friends. He is also a member of the St. Paul Curling Club where he makes the most of harsh Minnesota winters.
Shannon Smith, CLFPVice President
Shannon has been with KLC Financial for 9 years and started on January 2008 as Credit Manager and has worked to oversee the Credit, Funding, and Operations side of the business. His primary roles are working with the sales team to review, underwrite, structure, and price deals based on risk. He manages the funding relationships by working with the existing banks and funding partners along with obtaining new funding. He also oversees the Operations team which works with credit, documentation, lien perfections, and funding of the transactions. His prior work experience was in the larger banking sector where he held sales and credit underwriting positions. Shannon graduated from St John’s University in May 2002 with a BA degree majoring in Accounting.
Jared Keepman, CLFPBusiness Development
Jared Keepman joined KLC Financial in 2004 to handle the admin department and transitioned into business development in 2005. He has been involved in structuring, closing, and servicing lease and finance contracts in industries ranging from restaurants to technology firms.
Jared studied for a year at the University of Minnesota where he played for the men’s lacrosse team and returned to Saint Mary’s University in Minneapolis to complete coursework in business and accounting.
Prior to joining KLC, he spent two years with a startup landscaping company, leading a crew in the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin. He and his wife have three daughters and three Labradors. Outside of the office he enjoys golf, hockey, skiing, hunting, and cheering on our Minnesota sports teams.
Kevin Kelly, CLFPController & Treasurer
Kevin joined KLC Financial in May 2014 as Controller. Prior to KLC Financial, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, L-1 Identity Solutions, and Ecolab. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Master of Accounting degree. Kevin is a member of the Ecolab Credit Union Board of Directors and is currently serving as the vice-chairman. He and his wife Sarah have two sons.
Kevin loves to spend time with his family and stays active by playing sports such as football, hockey, and golf.
Lesley Thomas Farmer, CLFPBusiness Development
Lesley joined KLC Financial in 2005 as a member of the sales and development team. In the last 10+ years, she has worked with all types of companies and industries including restaurants, manufacturing, indoor trampoline parks, construction, salons, hospitals, transportation, IT and excavation.
Her goal is to always build the best customer relationship she can through her service and customized financing solutions. When first meeting with clients, she likes to find out exactly what they need and want out of their financing partner to best service their current and long-term needs. Lesley has a bachelor’s degree from the College of St. Scholastica in international business with an emphasis on Asia studies. Lesley spent 4 months studying in China prior to graduating in 2003.
She currently serves on the board of directors for the Risk Management Association of Minnesota as President.
She has two beautiful children–Kaidence(10) and Bennett (6). They keep her very busy with all of their activities.
Allen GlynnBusiness Development
Allen started with KLC Financial as part of the sales team in 2006. His focus has been building strong customer relationships, through providing superior customer service and structured financing solutions for his customers. His experience includes financing assets ranging from IT, medical, transportation, manufacturing, fitness, construction, hospitality, and professional services.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin, Superior, having majored in transportation and logistics management, and a Master of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.
Sharon GoetzOffice Manager
Sharon Goetz started with KLC Financial in 2011. She provides administrative support to the executive team and sales staff. She has 10+ years as an administrator in the leasing, construction, manufacturing and hospitality industries.
She studied for two years at Winona State University and Scottsdale Community College. When she’s not working, she enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
Jena MorganMarketing and Portfolio Manager
For over 10 years Jena has provided innovative financing and insurance solutions to small and medium-sized businesses. She has worked with all types of industries including transportation, auto repair, medical, waste management and retail – just to name a few. Jena is passionate about helping entrepreneurs succeed. She prides herself on working hard in finding the best finance solution for her clients and delivering solid customer service.
Jena is grew up in northern Minnesota and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. When Jena is not working, she enjoys weight lifting, dancing, cooking & checking out the latest restaurants in town.
Erin LeierLease Administrator & Credit Assistant
Erin Leier joined the KLC Financial team in 2015 after completing her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, majoring in Financial Services and Banking and minoring in Accounting. She has gained financial and customer service experience working with banks and credit unions as a customer service representative the last 3 years. She is excited and driven to begin her professional career with KLC.
She is originally from central North Dakota and enjoys running, volleyball, spending time with family, and reading.
Randy PetersenRelationship Manager
Randy comes to KLC Financial from General Mills. He grew up in a small town South of Houston Texas, El Campo. He graduated from Utah State University with a Management and Human Resource degree. During his senior year he interned at Schwan’s Home Service, after graduation he accepted a position in Maple Grove Minnesota as the assistant depot manager. Later, he moved to co-manage the new Lino Lakes Minnesota depot.
After Schwan’s Randy joined up with General Mills and helped sell Cheerios. While at General Mills, he served in various sales and customer relations positions. His accounts including Supervalu, Rainbow, Sam’s Club, and Costco. Randy has a strong sales and customer relations back ground.
He brings to KLC another honest, hardworking, and customer oriented relationship manager, who’s main focus is the customer and how he can help them be more successful in their endeavors.
